A recent question about foods
I was recently asked about what about my daily eating habits regarding my Monday through Sunday food diet which is kind of one of the harder question for me to answer. The reason is that throughout my journey to being healthier and eat better, I have tested and played around with the likes of the Paleo diet, the Atkins diet, Pescetarianism, but not the complete vegan diet.
The main reason I started looking at these diets and others like them was mainly driven by health-related issues stemming from high blood pressure, high blood sugar or low blood sugars, digestive issues, and skin irritation.
The truth of the matter is that you don’t have to try any of these diets, but you could research them if you wanted to. These diets are truly for people who live a measured meal lifestyle and are just not meant for the everyday person.
Here are a few links to start off with that I have done in the past:
What I have learned from the books that I have is that no matter what I did or didn’t work that I can always reference back to them.
Why Is Fast Food So UnHealthy?
On the real topic that will shred the unwanted belly fat off, we have the American classic, fast food or as I like to call it….Fat food. I say this because generally speaking about meals, have you ever had a cheap $5 to $7 meal that was made in 2 minutes that honestly you felt good about or didn’t wonder about?
Seriously think about it!
I would like to challenge you for a solid month or two to not eat any fast food at all. I mean zero, not the well I’m trying but it is just so convenient that its ok to cheat a little. It’s it not ok to cheat even just a little bit when it comes to fast food. You are hurting everything that you have done, you are hurting yourself and don’t know it.
Say for instance that you stopped eating fast food for 10 days then well it just happened to be convenient one day to stop and get a quick bite somewhere like McDonald’s, well you just reset the clock on the 10 days that you have already accomplished down the drain…literally.
I would like to ask you a great question, why do you think that these places like McDonalds and BurgerKing or Krispy Creme make it so easy to get their food? The answer is not that it is the healthiest food, the answer is so you will quickly forget about eating right if all you see around you is the quit fast food meals.
Really and truly if you did stop eating fast food for a 2 month time period then you would un-train your brain to see the easy fast food meals and re-train your brain to see the different healthier alternatives.
You may not know this but McDonald’s did a test a few months back to try to make their burger healthier, they change from soy patties to actual hamburger meat for one month and results came back that sales didn’t change at all. They decided to stick with the cheaper more cost effective soy patty which also means more bread and less meat or soy in what you are eating….bad for America…good for McDonald’s.
Another test that you can do even before you take to 2 months no fast food challenge is to just look at the fast food places that you may currently go to and just pay attention to the 90 percent of people that eat there, are they slightly overweight? This should enlighten you to say if I keep eating this then what am I going to look like in 5 to 10 years.
My end result
Well, I eat 4 meals a day generally, a protein shake in the morning, mainly because I am lazy at 4:30 am and don’t want to cook breakfast and again fast food is out. I eat a snack around 10am to 11am depending on when I get hungry then a normal home cooked meal at the end of the day. All in all, I get the nutrients that I need in the morning from the protein drink that I make. I get the fuel to keep my body having energy with a snack around 10am then I might have another snack at 3pm if I work late that day followed by the home cooked meal for the end of my day.
I will note that I do not eat anything 1 1/12 hours before laying down for bed. If you eat the go straight to sleep then your body does not digest food properly.
This combined with the few different work-outs that I do in the morning evening help keep the pounds off and honestly gives me more energy.
Well in conclusion, here is a funny video regarding bad foods that we all have eaten from time to time.
I hope this was helpful and if you have any comments or question, then please leave a comment below, I value your opinion and look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Shane
